Tips for Selling Your Home This Spring

By March 15, 2019June 6th, 2019Real Estate

There is many buyers in the spring market so it is very important to make your home stand out among the competition. Buyers will always remember a well maintained house that has curb appeal. You want to make sure that your home is the one that is leaving a lasting impression.

1. Wash Your Windows Thoroughly

It is very important for your windows to be squeaky clean to not only allow for lots of natural light to get into your house but also make your home stand out on the outside too. You may even consider hiring a professional window cleaner. This will be so worth it to make sure all the mildew and dust are kept off your windows.

2. Tidy Up Your Landscaping

Over grown and under maintained landscaping does not appeal to buyers. I highly recommend trimming back over grown trees or bushes. A fresh trim is all it takes to make your plants look beautiful. Also, rake your yard, our yards have taken a beating over the winter so make sure to get all the leaves, twigs, and other debris that may be lingering. Make sure that landscaping lining walkways is all trimmed back.

3. Add Some Color

Adding color to your landscaping will make your home pop. Plant some spring flowers like daffodils or tulips to fill up some empty spaces and help make your home look beautiful.

4. Add A Fresh Coat Of Paint To Your Front Door

Front doors tend to get faded very easily from the sun. It is important to add a fresh coat of paint since buyers will be entering your home through the front door. First impressions are lasting, when you are selling your home the first impression is the front door.

5. Take Care Of Your Lawn

Make sure to fertilize, mow, and edge your lawn. Try to bring life back into your yard by taking care of your grass. A nice green lawn is the perfect way to leave a good impression on buyers.

6. Power Wash

Power wash all surfaces such as patios, walkways, and anything you see that could use a fresh clean.

7. Reseal Your Driveway

If your driveway is looking very faded and uneven you might want to consider having it resealed.

8. Keep The Inside Of Your Home Tidy

Not only is the exterior very important but the interior is too. It can be difficult to keep a home in perfect condition while you are still living in it, however just keep up with little things such as dusting, vacuuming, wiping off windows, and keep the clutter out of site. Since this is such a stressful time its not a bad idea to hire a cleaning service while selling your home.
